Fragile Gender

60

Male & Female are the two wheels of a cart. If one of them is defective, the cart can't move smoothly & efficiently. Recently, Government passed a bill by the name of women rights protection bill. According to Government it is a bill to safeguard the rights of women. Interestingly, though in 60 years no bill is passed about the rights of men. I feel this is injustice against men. We will try to analyze the oppression against men, ‘the fragile gender'.

From birth till death, men face injustice. When a female is born, parents take a lot of care about her. They get her ears pierced for earring. A small gold ring is bought which becomes the beauty of her little finger. Females get costly, comfortable & beautiful pampers while males uses langoots. Slowly time passes & they become boys & girls. Girls get to play with costly Barbies while boys are found wondering outdoors & playing nothing other than ‘gulli-danda'. This further strengthens my point that males are in a pitiful situation.

When females reach the age of 6 most of them gets admission in school while a few rest at homes. On the other hand, only a few boys get the privilege to go to schools. Most boys are thrown onto workshops to do the tough job & earn money for the family. Girls have books in their hands while boys have hammers, nails & paint brushes. Females beautify their hands with nail polish while males get to have only grease, oil & point.

When females become adolescents, they get beautiful clothes. They may be seen dressed in frocks, beautiful shalwar kamiz etc. Males on the other hand have two t-shirts & two jeans. This is proved by the fact that males are often seen wearing torn jeans. When the jeans reach the age of four, they are cut short & used as shorts for another four years. You will never see a female with torn clothes since they get new clothes every season. It's kind of seasonal shopping.

As a female reaches the adult age, parents feel a lot of responsibility & tension about their daughter's marriage. No one cares about boys' marriage. If they request the parents to think of his marriage also, he get the same blunt reply go & find a girl yourself. This shows the tyranny men face throughout life.

When the female marries, a lot of dowry is given to her. Man on the other hand strives hard throughout life to earn enough money to buy their households but all in vain, finally, they have to use their wife's dowry.

This injustice is present in all walks of life. In medical field, male to female ratio is 2:1. Males sit silently & fearfully in between occupied on both sides by the fearless female majority. As medical student we know, most genetic diseases have a male prepondence. Very rarely you find a disease common in females but less common in males. If a male don't answer a viva question, he is failed. On the other, hand a silent female is compliment by the sentence ‘you say it the best when you say nothing at all'.

On political stand, we observe that there are 33% reserved female seats in parliament. There is not even 1% reserved male seats. If males win parliament seat, it is due to their hard-work & public support. Females on the other hand get 33% seats without doing anything.

Most amusingly, the spokesman of foreign office is not a man but a woman. Government didn't find even a single man to be spokesman. What more injustice we need to face?

On economic front, the Head of State Bank of Pakistan is a lady. Head of human rights association of Pakistan is also a female. On media level, girls are present in 99% advertisements even if the advertisement is of motorbike spare parts.

Finally the greatest injustice example is world population. 51% of population is female while males are 49%. Females are dominant even in this regard. Another example of oppression & injustice against men is the demographic data of Pakistan. Average age of Pakistani male is 62 years while females enjoy life up to 63 years averagely.

How long will this oppression continue against males or will the males remain the fragile gender. It is a high time that parliamentarians should think of a ‘Men's rights protection bill'.

Almighty, please save men from injustice.

How sad! I didn't realize this happened where you are. Men are just as important! No matter what country they are from. Without them, we would not continue our races, and vise-versa. I have never heard of such pampering of the female; more to the opposite side of things in other countries. Enlightening hub. Hope your wishes come true! No more injustice!

Every part of life has always two aspects; i have however tried to show about how a male is neglected but on the other hand if we find, a male is more independent as compared to a female..

Thanks for sharing your views !

Many aspects in your country follow matriarchal patterns, I guess, which is much related with culture.

Obviously; culture defines some boundaries and all aspects of cultures are followed which are highly practiced and observed

Western culure is too focussed on the male and less about the female of the species. In your culture, it's a different balance. Different take on the culture of the female. Unusual to read this. I was moved by the injustice you talk about. Best wishes!

its really true that it depends upon cultures and people, i'm not saying that, male and female; both are important in Islamic culture but their responsibility and role in society are different

hatred of women is nothing new in a country that was created on the basis of a particular religion.

seriously dude, do you have any idea how women are treated in rural areas of your country. how long do you wish to subjugate women in the name of superiority of the man. Your religion supports your self-centred world view. but it's time now to let go of your stifling biasness, please.
